some doesn't know what is recce. at first, I thought its spell as r.i.c.k.y. hehehe ^^ well, recce means "inspection". last 28th Sep, I off to Redang for a recce trip; as we have a group of 200pax going to Redang on 17th Oct.
this is the 2nd time I travel on Fireflyz andI still don't like it taking the 720am flight, we arrived KT Airport at 820am. such a beautiful airport. then, from KT Airport we transferred to Merang Jetty as we stayed at Laguna Redang Island Resort (4 star hotel). if you stay at the other hotels, you should take a ferry from Shahbandar Jetty. unless if you are going to stay at Laguna, let see by end of March (early bird), then you need to take the ferry from Shahbandar since Merang is low-tide by early of year. it takes 1 hour boat journey to Redang and I can see a magnificent view of Redang even from the boat. one word "WOW" - is this consider as a word? hmmm. if I can compare Redang and Tioman, I can tell that Redang is nicer than Tioman.
arriving Laguna Jetty "eh, where's the hotel"?. from the jetty, we can't see the hotel..yet as blocked by rocks. previously, the jetty is in front of the hotel but its effected the whole view then the management has decided to move its jetty to the other area. having a short briefing, then a tram took us to the hotel's lobby. check-in!

I can say I love the room very much! cosy and wide. 1 room can accommodate up to 6 pax, and they have 3 - 4 bedded. oh ya, thanks Laguna for the complimentary rooms ^^'. before begin the inspection, we were having buffet lunch at Sang Suria Restaurant, which located at the 1st floor - top of the lobby area. yeap, it's a best lunch ever with the wonderful atmosphere.
meet Mr Harriths, the guest service officer. he took us to inspect all areas including the restaurant (as we would like to cordon 1 area for the group), the ballroom, the dinner venue - on the beach, the recreation place + food court, the swimming pool + Jacuzzi, the field and so on and so forth.
by 3pm, I joined the snorkelling trip to Khalong Bay, the gear cost @RM15 for the life jacket and the mask is also RM15. just nearby, only 5mins away from hotel's Jetty. it's an open sea, no jetty but yes to the best coral. and the best part is when the snorkelling guys offers to take a photo under the sea. how they do it? one person with water proof camera dive in, and another will push you down. no worries, you wont get drown cause the life jacket will float you up. the picture only @RM7/each and they offer buy 4 free 1 picture. im so so excited!

we try the "keropok lekor" at the food court before having our dinner. it's so yummy. luckily it's BBQ dinner on that night, I enjoyed eating those delicious seafood. another yummy. managed to meet Chef Talha to discuss on the menu. after that, I spent couple minutes to watch the live band and take this opportunity to walk along the beach from Laguna to Redang Holiday (south to north hehe). I only take less than one hour to have a 'round tour'. October is coming as well as the monsoon. most hotels in Redang are closed from 15th Oct 2013 except for Laguna - opens till end of Oct. and the whole island will be opens back after monsoon by March next year. insyaAllah
on 29th Sep, since we are taking 1120am flight... the hotelier said we cant take the 9am ferry. thus, after taking the packed breakfast (with no Nasi Dagang), we took the 7am public ferry - pick us up from the beach at nearby hotel. it's shared ferry with other hotels' guest. never mind, cause the ferry is taking us to Shahbandar Jetty! yeahuu. know why? even Shahbandar jetty is 2hours from Redang, it is close to Pasar Payang... a shopping heaven... where I can shop Keropok lekor, batik, cheaper souvenir and local delicacies such as Jala Emas, Nasi Dagang, cheap duku langsat etc etc etc
conclusion : 1 night in Redang is not enough. till we met again, Redang. miss ya!!
