last time I've been here on 9th Sept 2011. it's been 2 years already
the 1st one was... with friends, I drove by my own with no GPS help, we took a ferry from Tg Gemok, pay the parking fee, we need to pay RM5 for the conservation fee, paid additional RM10 for the snorkelling gear, room with no TV, a sharing snorkelling trip etc etc etc
but this 2nd time is much more better cause.... I booked with my brother-in-law. thanks, Azhar for the best arrangement. as my father drive for us (aku tdo sedap2 kat blkg), and Abah know the road well, we took a ferry from Mersing Jetty and they parked our vehicles at Azhar's friend. Azhar 'kaoteam' the conversation fee, means we don't pay for it and a free snorkelling equipment for whole trip. they locate our room at seaview room, with TV of course. just take a few steps to the restaurant and the beach, voila! and the best part, Azhar arranged for a Private snorkelling trip. means, we may snorkel as long as we want and we can left our belonging on the boat. the boat driver is a best friend of Azhar, so nothing to worry about.
who is Azhar? hehehe besides he's my brother-in-law, he's a diver. he works under the sea, sometimes to measure the border, to collect the bad starfish which eats plankton, to 'plant' the ATM machine.. etc. he's a part-timer at Sea Tech Marine. and frequently dive in Tioman, Redang, Perhentian and so forth. he said the most clean island in M'sia is Redang as the sea water is the most salty compared to others. he also told us that he once met a shark. gulp! scary
ok, enough promoting him. let's check it out what we have done last 20 - 22 Sept 2013
from KL on 19th Sep, we drop by kampong at Segamat. take a nap before continue our journey to Mersing via Ayer Hitam. arrive Mersing Jetty at 6am for 7am ferry. and arrive Tioman - Genting Jetty by 9am (51km away from the mainland). check-in at Damai Tioman Resort. had a free breakfast, taking a beach walking, lunch and enjoy pre-snorkelling on the sea in front of our rooms. my sister lost her glasses on the watery beach but my professional in-law finally found it. amazing! dinner and karaoke time. it is a peaceful night cause it's not a peak season.
2nd day, breakfast and snorkelling time! our 1st stop at marine park. superb!! I show them my snorkelling skill huhuhu and guess what? I saw a swordfish right in front my eyes. gulp! so dangerous, cause it can 'stab' you right away. leisure time on the beach, sand castle time! and packed lunch, we dine at one of restaurants in Tekek Village. take a leisure walk and continue snorkelling at Renggis Island. such a wonderful coral. my bro-in-law dive in and pick some coral for my sister. so romantic! love sweet love sweet ! back to hotel and cant help myself to sleep till the dinner time. it's BBQ dinner and its our final night in Tioman.
last day there, after breakfast we took opportunity to shop some souvenir. and rush to the jetty for the ferry back to the mainland. arrive Mersing jetty, had some lunch with various seafood. drove back to Segamat and KL with wonderful memories.. ecewah!
