We went to Bandung in August 2016 for a short-vacay. Only three of us; myself, my husband and my father... my mom cannot make it last-minute. Travelling with guys to so-called shopping paradise was a bad decision hahaha

And then... we were celebrating Eid al-Adha fall on September 12th last year at my grandma's. And we had a great and challenging moment to 'beat' the RM4,000 cattle. It was raining that morning and it was my husband's first time. Wanna do it again this year?

Why so serious?

Chicken Pox at early 30's !!... and now I've a permanent scar on my face when i tot it was a pimple at the first place. oh come on, I never had a chicken pox before. Even the doctor told me it was a boil on my back. Alhamdulillah, most of the chicken pox only appears at the certain parts of my body especially on my back, few on my face, my arms, my chest and my thighs. Seriously itchy... so I wish that i'll never get the chicken pox more than once.

I still need to work-from-home even getting a week of MC cause... I've a group of 400 pax to Perth Aussie; travelling from October to December 2016. Hence, I had to go to Perth four times in three months #muntahhijau . From nice cool (14°c) to warm and humid (37°c) weather.

On my birthday in November, I had a surprise Birthday Celebration plus a romantic dinner on a private LOVE Boat-Ride at Putrajaya Lake. wish come true~~ thanks Mr Hubby...

Despite our hectic schedule, we managed to celebrate our 1st anniversary here, at Byblos Cafe and Lounge, T.R.E.C KL (nearby Zouk) for the Lebanese Cuisine... highly recommended!

Happy Anniversary ~ 4th December 2016

Alhamdulillah... my youngest sister gets 8A's on her PT3 examination. Congratulation, dear! In order to celebrate her excellent results, I arranged for a simple family getaway (without my husband) in Port Dickson, last December 2016. Next trip, InsyaAllah we are going to Singapore after Raya, ok dear?

Since my husband got classes almost every weekend, we had to postpone our anniversary trip. This time, we went to Colmare Tropicale Bukit Tinggi and Gold Coast Morib during the Christmas week. We had so much fun at Colmare Tropicale. Especially the Japanese Village even though we need to climb-up a hill for 10mins, in addition of 10mins driving from the hotel to the Japanese Village parking lot. But the place is totally worth-sweating for.

Unlike Gold Coast Morib.... hmmm we were very upset with everything. From the minute we arrived until the moment we checked-out. Been here twice, but there's no way to come again.
Is there any better hotel in Klang Valley can offer a private Jacuzzi? Any suggestion?

 

Early this year, I went to Melaka with my besties. Again, without my sporting Mr Hubby.. We stayed at this lovely 1825 Gallery Hotel Melaka. We took the River Suite @ RM 414 per room per night with extra bed. It was an awesome idea to explore Melaka during weekdays. As such, no long queue for Ikan Bakar, Kuih Keria Antarabangsa and the Melaka River  Cruise. No traffic jam!

I was struggling with my own emotion when my husband was away to Yamaguchi, Japan on the day I was admitted. It wasn't easy... It was really tough.. to believe that our baby's gone. uhhh

after Cherating and Belum Rainforest, we continued our unplanned journey to see the greenery world at... 

Cameron Highlands

from Cherating, Pahang back to Cameron Highlands, Pahang. i'm so lucky to have a husband who can take me to travel around the world. thanks, Mr Hubby. Another 8hrs driving from Perak to Pahang via Kedah and Pulau Pinang, and Perak again before reaching Pahang. Another 4 states in one day. what a record! literally, if we have a proper, good and advance planning, we can save more time cause there's a shortcut from Gerik (after Belum) to Cameron Highlands without passage Kedah and Pulau Pinang. however, we only made up our mind during our lunch at R&R Juru.

  Hubby   : I think I wanna take you to have a ferry ride to Penang Island

  Wifey    : oh, I haven’t tried it before. Is it fun?

  Hubby   : hmmm hmmmm

  Wifey    : but… I just went to Penang 3mths ago. Or shall we go to Fraser’s Hill instead

  Hubby   : But I heard that it’s quite creepy there. Some of the hotels are haunted

  Wifey    : ok, then. How about Ipoh? We can try the local Mee Kicap (soy sauce noodle)

  Hubby   : great! We can go to visit the Leaning Tower

  Wifey    : I’ve been there thrice

  Hubby   : I know… let’s go to Cameron Highlands. All my life, I’ve never been to Cameron Highlands

  Wifey    : Seriously? All right, let’s go!

then, i search the hotel availability in Cameron Highlands through booking online website such as booking.com and agoda. it was Saturday, most of the rooms are very limited during weekend slash school holidays. i need to make sure we have a place to stay before we hit the mountainous road for 2hrs. there are 3 ways to Cameron Highlands, either from Simpang Pulai exit (if you are driving from north), Tapah exit (from south) and Gua Musang, Kelantan (from east coast). due to the safety reason, i always using the Simpang Pulai exit, regardless i was driving from south part. just to avoid the hair-raising steep and curving road from Tapah exit. *muntah hijau*

yes, we did it!

we managed to stay at a very chill place by wearing a beach attire. such a crazy idea. instead of having some sun-bathing in Boracay, we finally end-up at Cameron Highland. the other excitement in the country.

waaarrggggghhhhh finally i've regained my 'mood' to continue the story of my sweeeet honeymoon. it has been... 5mths (?) since the last introduction. as i mentioned in the earlier entry, my dream to have a vacation to Boracay has been wreaked up due to the typhoon last December. this unplanned vacay or i can say an ad-hoc roadtrip has brought us to...

The Legend Cherating 

maybe this is my first time walk-in to a hotel without any advance booking. and they were charging us less than RM200 per room only (can't remember the exact figure). as i checked from the online booking sites, RM190++ is based on Superior Room. Alhamdulillah, the hotel is upgrading us to the Deluxe Room for free. The room is a partically-seaview, cause we only can see the beaches when we step-out to the balcony. opppss! sorry, no sunset view cause Cherating is located at the east coast of peninsular Malaysia.

it was a monsoon season. we are not allowed to swim in the sea. so we just leisurely and romantically walk along the beach. we were staying here for one night only, so we don't have much time to do any other activities such as (bla bla bla)

we had our good time staying at this hotel even though it is not a new and modern type of hotel. not to forget those tiny crabs on the beach and cute little rabbits in the cage. and, my husband also took me to the best seafood restaurant in the world, which is Pak Su Seafood Restaurant in Kuantan. they served Halal food, no worries. the restaurant is facing the sea as well

even for 30mins driving from The Legend Hotel, the journey to this restaurant was quite challenging due to the dusty 'red road'. we were totally clueless and wonder what has happened to those areas. right after we went back to KL, i saw the news on TV telling about that area was massively effected by the illegal bauxite mining. oh it was a bauxite dust! it is not only pollute the environment especially air, but the fresh water may also has been contaminated with heavy metals by bauxite. my car also turns to red! my pray to the local people *be strong and stay healthy or get out from that place as soon as possible* and hope that situation will have a prompt solution.

The Introduction

Elephant Sanctuary

i have nothing much to share with you 'bout my recent visit to Sri Lanka. it was a short visit, hence we decided to cover maybe 5% (...?) of Sri Lanka only, which are Colombo and Negombo. Negombo is the place i stayed last month and the nearest beach area to/fro the Colombo Bandaranaike Airport. but it is not the best beach in Sri Lanka.

The best beaches are at Bentota and Galle (pronounce GAWL), about 2hrs drive from the airport. if Colombo got its name from the famous Italian explorer in history, "Christopher Columbus"; i've been told that Galle got its name from an explorer named "Gallus". Gallus is also a scientific name for "Junglefowl". Galle is located at the southwestern tip of Sri Lanka, such a strategic and was a busiest port (125-150 AD). long time ago, when the explorer disembark from their ship on this unknown island, the 1st thing they heard was a chicken crowing... which brings a meaning of... civilization! "let's explore and conquer this island ha ha ha". The 1st time i saw 'stilt fishing' was on TV from The Amazing Race , Season 24 (2014). i can't find this Sri Lanka traditional fishing in Negombo, but this kind of local activity is easily found in Galle.

and... last 2004, thousands were killed by the massive Tsunami hit southern part of the island especially Galle. and if you can see from the world map, Galle is not too far from Maldives.

All right, enough about Galle.... what i'm actually want to tell you is, you need to travel quite far to see, to discover and to experience the best of Sri Lanka. like during my previous 2013 trip, i've covered like 20% of this Island of Gems. and for me, there's nothing much in Negombo. that's why we finally traveled to :

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

the sanctuary is located in between of Negombo (2hrs drive) and Kandy (1½hrs drive). the entrance fee is quite expensive, cost me at USD20; and the show started at 12noon (local time). well, Sri Lanka is 2½hrs behind Malaysia time. i missed the elephant bath time, but i managed to see the elephant parade. 

after that, we had our buffet lunch at restaurant @ Pinnalanda Hotel by the Maha Oya river. you know what, actually this is such an unique lunch experience.

there are 2 more hotels available at this area; namely Elephant Park Hotel and Elephant Bay Hotel. the rates are from USD55 per room per night. and right after lunch.... it's our shopping time! and selfie, of course

ok, that's all about the tame elephants in Pinnawala. i've seen one wild elephant at Yala National Park, the biggest national park in Sri Lanka...

and these are the elephants in Thailand. they called it as "chang" in Siamese language. Not "chiang" cause chiang means city. Chiang Mai : New City; Chiang Rai : Old City.

and below picture was taken at Kuala Gandah Elephant Conservation Centre, Temerloh, Pahang, MALAYSIA

i'm the one who wearing the pink t-shirt. acah-acah mak enon je tuh. this picture was taken during our educational trip in February 2005. wow! 11 years ago, when i was 20. this centre is offering few activities such as feeding the elephant, riding an elephant (there's no carpet/wood chair provided - seriously boleh rasa bulu gajah yg macam jarum kasar tu mencucuk2 peha OUCH!!), bathing the baby elephant and... bathing with the giant elephants - this is the highlight of the visit. they allowed 3-4 pax riding one big elephant along the river, and when we arrived at the deeper area, the clever elephant purposely let us fall off into the river together with it. seriously, my body was smell like an elephant that time. and guess what? you can see the floating elephant dung as well. no worries, there's a complete facilities such as shower room inside the centre... tapi..mandi 5x pon tak hilang bau - well, experience is priceless. kau hado?

additional information; we stayed at Desa Murni Homestay, Temerloh (30mins away) and during that trip, we also visit the Smiling Mountain with caves or Gunung Senyum, about 45mins drive from the homestay.

Cerita Basi : COLMAR TROPICALE

semenjak dua-menjak kawan2 aku panggil aku "menteri pelancongan" nih, jadik makin bersemangat plak nak promote tempat2 menarik kat M'sia yang aku pernah pergi. skip intro-intro panjang, jom layan kan aje 2 cerita lama aku kat Colmar Tropicale - A French Themed Resort, Bukit Tinggi Bentong, Pahang

1st time pergi, it was 2003 - with my beloved family. it was a surprise actually *terbaik la abah*. my parent fetch me up at UiTM Lendu (masa tu aku Part 1, Diploma), troz gerak pergi KL to attend my brother's graduation day at UiTM Shah Alam on the next day. slalunya kalau parents aku pergi Shah Alam, ktrg akan stay at Concorde Hotel. but then, tetibe abah aku detour ke arah Gombak, aku pon ingat ktrg akan overnight kat rumah makcik aku kat Sri Gombak la... eh eh, tak jugak... abah melencong ke arah lain plak. bila ditanya... mak & abah senyum2 jek... sgt2 musykil time tuh... jadik ke tak jadik nak pergi Convocation Day abang nih??? akhirnya sampai jugak ke destinasi yg menjadik tanda tanya selama 3jam aku kat dalam kereta tuh. seriously, aku tak pernah tahu kat Malaysia ada tempat yang sangat cantik, modern, unique & western style mcm kat Colmar Tropicale. lepas check-in, ktrg berempat (aku, mak, abah & adik aku - ain) pergi jalan2 makan angin yang agak sejukkk kat atas bukit tuh. boleh nampak lampu2 Genting Highlands tau. rupa2nya, abah redeemed his voucher he got from the insurance company. untunglaaaa. 

adik aku comel sangat time nih. baru 2 tahun. esok nya, lepas check-out, ktrg singgah kejap kat Rabbit Park. tak sempat nak pergi Japanese Village & Botanical Garden sebab nak kejar masa, kan. kang nanges plak abang aku kalau takde family yang datang on his big day... uhhhhh

2nd time - year 2009. masa ni aku baru start kerja - baru sebulan camtuh. sangat2 beruntung... Alhamdulillah. our company buat Company Trip + Teambuilding kat Colmar Tropicale. after work, ktrg carpool terus pergi sana. the committee member dah well-arranged rooming and room keys. nama pon travel agency... haruslah hebat dalam bidang nih. aku tak sure lah our room is in which category, tapi boleh masuk 4 adults - ada 2 queen-size bed - ada 2 tingkat. mine was at the 2nd floor, seingat aku ada stairs kat tengah2. definitely, such a big room.

next day, after breakfast - it's time for the games. Go! Go! Orange Team!!
