Itadakimashita!
to all Muslim reader, please take note that below restaurants does not have Halal certificates. but they are all pork-free restaurants. cause we wanted to taste the local Japanese cuisine so badly. of course! cause we were in Japan. they only can provide us either Bento (cold but kawaii food in the small food container) or meals at Indian Restaurant if we really look for Halal food. I still remember that we were having Indian and Turkish meals while we are in Seoul last year. sangat TAKKK best! no Korean feeling, but luckily we had the grilled mackerel fish while we were at Mt. Soerak days before.
Allright, my first lunch in Tokyo was at Ekohiiki Restaurant. location : very close to Nakamise shopping street & Asakusa Kannon Temple (formerly known as Senso-ji). walk down the street along the Nakamise Street, to the south up till the gate and if I'm not mistaken - Kaminarimon Street; where you can see a T junction. your left side is the road to Tokyo SkyTree, but before that you can see a building where you can get a free wifi =).
you'll be needed to turn right instead, cross the wide street (please be careful while crossing) and walk for few steps ahead at the same block of till you find this restaurant which is located inside the building of Asakusa Complex right before Starbucks Coffee.
it is on the 8th floor, offering private rooms and two different seating options (traditional way - sit on the floor; or the modern way - sit on the chair of course). each room can accommodate up to 40 person at one time. few rooms with the view of Asakusa Kannon Temple. This is a seafood restaurant hence we ordered Crab (snow crab) Seafood Steamboat Set plus side dishes like sashimi, salad, rice, pickles and udon (wheat) noodle.
people in Japan eat this crab by using scissors (back in M'sia we are using big cutter and hammer) and something looks like an ear pick to pull those tender crab meat out from it shell. totally safe, easy and clean. the crab is the same species with the big famous crab in Hokkaido. the real Hokkaido Crab (Kings Crab / Long-legged Crab / Hairy Crab) are really big and expensive, which will cost you about RM 1,000 each. honto ni? honto desu!

'thanks' to that Miso soup cause ruining my day in Tokyo. then, i only can say that we 'had' our dinner at Kanidoraku Shinjuku Restaurant. the best crab shop in Tokyo! but not for me, cause i can't enjoy those Crab Kaiseki Set "Yukari" at all. it's a crab day for us! it's a boiled crab served with sashimi, crab paste, crab steamboat, fried crab, sushi, soup and dessert. sorry, no photo taken. i only managed to eat the steamed egg and sushi's topping (only). can't eat more or i'll throw out again and again....
the Crab dinner cost is around Yen4,000 + 8% tax per set. sorry, since i was not well, i can't remember the location, at which building, and at which floor etc. all i noticed, it is a very nice restaurant with Japanese traditional design, suitable for small or big group and we need to walk down the stairs once we get off from the elevator. gomenasai.. that's the only information i can give
the third restaurant I've been in Japan is Gotemba Kameya Restaurant - the restaurant is located 2hrs away from Tokyo City, not too far from Mt. Fuji (30-mins away) and of course, only 5-mins to Gotemba Premium Outlets (the biggest shopping outlet in Japan). they are serving Japanese Set (box) which contains tempura, grilled salmon, Japanese omelette, steamed beans, stewed vegetables, pickles and rice. Served with hot udon noodle soup.
here at this place, there's Tax-Free (the 8% tax exemption) shop if you spend Yen5401 and more in one single receipt.

Hokkaido is one of the places i must go before i die. it is in the Northern part of Japan. Hokkaido offers the best scenery ever in Japan, plus different fruits and different flowers every month. ok, why am i telling you about Hokkaido. because on the second day, we dine at Hokkaido Restaurant. the location, 5mins walk from Ikebukuro shopping street, facing the Seibu Ikebukuro department store and 2 mins walk from Ikebukuro Station. if you are taking the JR Yamanote loop Line and stop at Ikebukuro Station, please head to your left exit to East / Seibu Exit. it's also only 5mins drive from Sunshine City Prince Hotel.
the restaurant is located on the 7th floor, right before Asakusa Tokyo Restaurant. a simple Japanese restaurant but suitable for walk-in guest, for group of 80 people, have a private room, free wifi, interesting shoes locker and can smoking inside the premise. and the best part (for Non-Muslim) is they are serving the local sake (liquor) or also known as "rice wine". they do have like more than 10 different types of sake.

good news for Muslim - we found one Halal restaurant owned by Malaysian. they have two outlet whereas Malaychan Satu is serving Halal food, however Malaychan Dua is not - they do have Bak Kut Teh, okehh. honestly, i didn't have time to go to Malaychan Satu, but my boss did. he bought Nasi Ayam for me. *arigatou, boss*
if based from their brochure, they do have Nasi Goreng Belacan, Roti Jala, Roti Canai, Chicken Curry, Tom Yam, Laksa, Char Kuey Teow, Curry puffs, ice kacang etc. to get to Hokkaido Restaurant, we need to turn left to East / Seibu Exit, right? but to go to Malaychan Satu Restaurant, please head to the West / Tobu Exit. 5mins walk and pass-by McDonalds, Bic Camera and another McDonalds. the restaurant is located in front of Nishi Ikebukuro Park. While Malaychan Dua is located nearby Tokyo Metro Higashi-Ikebukuro Station. just climb up the escalator, you can find the restaurant in front of you. just couple minutes walk from Sunshine City Prince Hotel / Sunshine City Complex.
