South KOREA - Day 2

from Day 1 entry

During breakfast, we bumped with the MAS’s victim. They told us their terrible experiences. But what they have regretted was the MAS officer came to them after 12 hours they stranded in Hong Kong; without explanation & assistance. I have a lot to say but not in this entry
Enough ‘bout that. We had our quick bite because we are too excited to play with ice! The ice was too hard and too cold to hold. So we just took this chance to take some pictures until check-out time.

After check-out, we stop at the sheep farm and cheese factory. They gave us opportunities to feed those hungry sheep. The ‘awet muda ahjumma’ taught us the simple process of 30mins DIY cheese making. And when it’s done, we can enjoy eating our own self-making cheese. I’m not a cheese eater, but this one is sweet, nice, fresh and tender. They served us with the crackers and Jeju’s orange juice.

Continue the journey back to the west. After 2hrs journey, we stop at Chuncheon’s R&R for toilet stop; and Chuncheon Myeongdong Street. If you watched “Winter Sonata” – one of the sad episode where the heroin waited for the hero, on the day they want to declare their love; but then the guy didn’t show up – cause he involved in the accident that caused him to blind. This is the mentioned waiting street. And here, both actor & actress have captured their handprints. Besides enjoying the “Winter Sonata”’s great moment, me & Along also enjoy shopping! craving for the local cosmetic brands such as Nature Republic, Etude House, Face Shop, It’s Skin etc. I heard ‘bout the snails product, the price wise not too expensive that what I heard, but my concern was - is it Halal?
a cup of coffee at 500won only

We just nearby with the Nami Island, but we had our lunch first at Nami-Ok Restaurant first for the Halal Chicken BBQ (Dakgalbi) in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi. Kitorang try mkn style bungkus2 pkai salad pastu suap the whole thing ke dlm mulut. It’s fun! They also provide a prayer room at the back of the restaurant. We met a group of ladies from M’sia, they self-drive to this place ‘cause they found a lot of articles in the internet mentioned that this restaurant served the best Halal Dakgalbi in South Korea. Beef is an expensive stuff in Korea.

Actually I really want to try the flying-fox or Zip-Wire (Jara-Nami Skyline) from the Gapyeong wharf to Nami Island (one-way only); but not recommended by the tour guide -.-“ I heard ‘bout Zip-Wire from “Romantika” – episode Black & his wife
Thus, I’m just joining the rest taking the 3:40pm ferry. The island looks like a smiling mouth or half-moon, surrounded by Han River. And the name of “Nami” was taken from an intelligent, handsome, perfect and young General Nami; he was buried on this island. Biasalah, bila ada org perfect sket org lain x senang pastu fitnah sampai dia dihukum bunuh L katanya. so, what so they have in this Nami Island beside General Nami’s mausoleum? It’s a place where the “Winter Sonata” filming site – if I’m not mistaken, tempat hero & heroin dating. There’s place where they have their 1st kiss and their statue (based on the actual size, shape and height). For those who are not interested with the Winter Sonata stuff, you can enjoy the environment, the Metasequoia foothpath trees line (itu kot nama pokok2 tu), steamed bread (red bean) at 1,000 won, the library for kids (mosque is at the 1st floor above the Nami Library) etc. We were planning to round the island by bicycle, but the bicycle rent place is in the middle of the island, so malas r, leceh nk return nanti. there's the couple bike available here (romantic sgt!). For me, this island is suitable to visit during spring, but not during winter. Back to pier by taking 5:30pm ferry. oh ya, the boat journey is only takes 10minutes. Also known as Namiseom or Namisum. ** i have no idea where's the Jara Island & the electric ride. i heard few stories regards on that General Nami, another story telling that he died in battle at age of 26, some said he died at 28. and some said if we took the stone from his grave, we'll bring misfortune to our house. katanyaaa

After 1 hour, we arrived at the restaurant for dinner. Steamboat this time, with the chives pancake!!! The pancake is a bit oily but very nice. Similar taste with what I’ve tried at Onsemiro Restaurant in KL.
does anybody know what the hell is this?
Less than an hour, we arrived at Daemyung Resort at Vivaldi Park. It’s a big hotel, but the room’s presentation shows that it’s an old resort; even it’s quite big with the kitchenette, dining table, balcony (facing in front of the resort, I can see the park, main road and the skiing place) and bathtub. Luckily, we brought our own towel after we’ve been told that some hotel in Korea doesn’t provide towels. NO towels are provided here. Maybe the weather is too cold; the other visitors won’t take a shower. The hotel’s lobby connected with the underground mall. There’s a convenience store, coffee shop, bowling arena, cinema etc. most places in Korea doesn’t provide free wi-fi. So, we just hang around and taking pictures. One funny story (for me) to tell, when two Korean guys asked direction from me in Hangul (okeh… I obviously doesn’t look like a Korean lady and I’m wearing hijab kot). That time, my sister was busy looking at the book vending machine. Then one of them asked me in English “where you from?” I said “oh, I’m from Malaysia”. His friend asked me “basket?” I’m like haaaa?? The guy with better English corrects him with “market”. Then I gave them the direction since I’ve been shopping at that convenience store couple minutes before. Okey, Korean people asking direction from a foreigner?? Huhuhu

*** The fuel price in South Korea is pricey. Our minicoach consumed 185,000 won for 115litre, almost RM600. The guide told us that the fuel rate in suburban is cheaper than in the city.
